What I liked
I really love how the environment was paced for me as a student. I believe that my assigned mentors were extremely invested in my learning and helped me navigate the field I was working in. I studied viruses in a neuro-oncology lab, and I just learned so much that the skills are now transferrable.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have taken more advantage of the conferences or seminars that were offered.
Advice
I would say that you get out what you put in. If you are not putting effort towards this experience and demonstrating that you can take initiative, it will be difficult for you to succeed. I think this is also a great time to deeply think about how much you like your experience as a researcher.
