Camp Counselor- Camp Meriwether
- Responsible for assigned campers in their unit daily and assists the unit
leader in creating a safe space in the cabin
- Lives in a cabin with participants and helps foster a sense of community
and safety in the cabin for 8-10 weeks
- Participate in training prior to camp
- Lead programs and activities with campers giving adult guidance and
leadership
- Demonstrate mature risk management skills to ensure that activities are
facilitated safely according to Girl Scout and ACA safety checkpoints
- Design activities and programs that meet Girl Scout badge curriculum and
that facilitate girl led programming
- Serve as a role model and guide campers in appropriate behaviors,
language, attitudes, and activities
- Help girls live and work together as a unit through the facilitation of
communication, conflict resolution, and problem solving
- Help girls develop individual responsibility as it pertains to morning
routines, hygiene, camp chores, and other activity-based responsibilities
- Keep their supervisor informed of plans, problems and concerns pertinent
to unit operation
- Be aware of the ongoing medical needs of campers
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
