Intern - Deco Application Chemist
To support Deco application lab to validate new additives, customer support assistance and plant support qualification.
Job Description:
- Provide support to chemists within assigned Research & Development Group
- Perform a variety of lab tasks utilizing general instruments and advanced lab equipment
- Complete appropriate research documentation, calculations, and data analysis and effectively communicate these results with supervisor and team members
- Prepare basic samples, materials, and other required tools for lab tests or development
- Perform basic calculations to prepare, perform, and conclude tests and analyses.
- Clean, maintain, and calibrate standard equipment and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist in the preparation of experiment protocols, technical reports, and oral presentations via Microsoft Teams
Job Requirements:
- Completion of undergraduate freshman year at an accredited University
- Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of the internship assignment pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree
- Applicants must be majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or related field
- Basic understanding of laboratory practices and safety
- Microsoft Word for technical reporting and Excel for data analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness
