HSE Specialist I – Sr. HSE Specialist


Job Summary:
The HSE Specialist I – Sr. HSE Specialist (Grade 14 – Grade 17) is responsible for assisting in maintaining compliance with local, state and federal air quality regulations for Permian asset from a corporate level.
Job Duties:
  • Work with Sr. air permitting specialists to utilize PROMAX and various available emission calculation tools to assist in air permitting evaluations.
  • Analyze the air permitting data and develop air quality compliance protocols related to permitting and federal standards that includes but is not limited to monitoring, testing, recordkeeping, and reporting for tank batteries, SWDs and waste-water treatment/recycling facilities. 
  • Effectively communicate with field and corporate operations personnel on the air permitting requirements subject to their facilities and assist with field implementation of compliance programs and procedures across all assets.
  • Work with corporate air quality compliance department to establish systems for continuous compliance with all applicable air quality regulations across company assets.
  • Support corporate tracking program for air quality compliance related to state permits (TX), federal regulations, and air emission events. Work with assets to ensure program usage and compliance.
  • Maintain and build relationships with field operations and regulatory agencies. 
  • Must have good understanding of state air quality permitting and compliance requirements for oil and gas industry.
  • Preferred experience with air permitting knowledge associated with wind turbines, generators, and alternative power technologies.
  • Performs other/additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental, or Biology strongly preferred. High school diploma required
  • Minimum of 4  years’ experience working in environmental compliance and/or management. Experience in the oil and gas production, midstream, or refining strongly preferred.
  • Possess a strong understanding of state and federal air permits related to upstream O&G operations and associated compliance requirements. In addition, should have knowledge of federal regulations such as NSPS JJJJ, NESHAP ZZZZ, and NSPS OOOO/OOOOa.
  • Certificates in ProMax, HazWOPER, E&P Tanks, Water9, Glycalc, and Dispersion Modeling preferred and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, planning, process improvement and organizational skills are required. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members at all levels required.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of time.
