Airport Greeter/Helper - Various Locations Available
Summer Springboard is seeking ad-hoc Airport Helpers/Greeters on select days over the summer of 2022.
We are looking for individuals who are local to any one of the following college campuses and respective airports:
- UC Berkeley, Berkeley, CA – SFO, OAK (6/19, 7/1, 7/3, 7/15, 7/17, and 7/29)
- UCLA, Los Angeles, CA – LAX (6/26, 7/8, 7/10, and 7/22)
- UC San Diego, San Diego, CA – SAN (7/24 and 8/5)
- Georgetown University, Washington, DC – DCA, IAD (7/17 and 7/29)
- Fordham University (Lincoln Center), New York, NY – EWR, JFK (6/19, 7/1, 7/3, and 7/15)
- Yale University, New Haven, CT – JFK (6/19, 7/1, 7/3, 7/15, 7/17, and 7/29)
- Simmons University, Boston, MA – BOS (6/26, 7/8, 7/10, and 7/22)
On the above dates for the respective location, Summer Springboard is seeking individuals who can assist their staff with accompanying their campers to/from campus and the respective airport via pre-arranged shuttles or ad-hoc Uber/Lyft rides. You would be responsible for your own transportation to/from your home and campus at the beginning and end of each day, but all transportation within the time you're working for us to/from the campus and the airport would be covered, and the transportation already arranged and provided. We just need responsible and reliable extra bodies to assist in accompanying our students. Pay is $15-$17/hour, plus a meal stipend during the day (for the time you're at the airport). We’d be looking for you to block-out the entire day for us, generally starting around 9AM in the morning and going until about 9PM at night.
On check-in days, duties - for the most part - would entail posting-up at the airport with our staff during the flight arrival window for the respective campus location/airport. While there, you’d be responsible for meeting students at their respective gate or terminal as they fly-in throughout the arrival window period. From there, accompanying them to a centralized waiting are in the airport to join the rest of the students that have already arrived. Outside of the time you’re at the airport, you’d be on-campus with our staff at our check-in location outside the residence hall. Generally speaking, this will be free time for you to read, hangout, etc., (and still getting paid!) until you’re needed to go pick someone up at the airport. Again, transportation would be arranged and paid for by Summer Springboard. You would just be a helping hand!
On check-out days, duties - for the most part - would entail accompanying our staff and students on a shuttle to the airport for 10AM in the morning. Once there, accompanying our students through check-in at their respective airline, and in some cases waiting with them at their gate until their flight arrives. Again, we’d be looking for you to block-out the entire day for us, generally starting around 9AM in the morning and going until about 9PM at night.
This is ideal for anyone that is local to one of the listed campuses, has the respective dates free, and wants to spend the day earning easy money!
The ideal candidate would be someone who is easy-going, flexible, personable, dependable, and can easily make conversation with high-school age students.
