Responsibilities of the High School Biology Teacher:
  • Develop and implement a curriculum and lesson plans that will foster knowledge and skills essential to effectively teach students.

  • Demonstrate scientific concepts using models, technology, and other standard or teacher-prepared instructional aids.
  • Evaluate each student’s progress in their scientific knowledge and skills.
  • Serve as an advisor for a group of students throughout the year.
  • Communicate with parents to discuss the individual student’s progress.

Requirements of the High School Biology Teacher:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology or forensic science is required (or extensive coursework in biology, forensic science, or related field).
  • Experience teaching biology at the high school level is preferred, however early career candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Willingness to be involved in the school's afternoon athletics or extracurricular programming is preferred.
  • Living on campus and working with the school's residential life program is an option for this role.
