2023 Wilson, NC Packaging Site Internship

New hires in office-based roles in the US & Puerto Rico will be required, subject to applicable law, to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for a medical or religious exemption to this vaccination requirement that can be accommodated without an undue burden to the operation. However, subject to applicable law, employees working in roles that the Company determines require routine collaboration with external stakeholders, such as employees in customer-facing commercial or research- based roles, will be required to be fully vaccinated.

The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Manufacturing & Supply Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals. 
 
We work within a “Safety First, Quality Always” mindset striving for continuous improvement. We work in a local plant connected to our global manufacturing and distribution networks. These positions are three-month intern opportunities within our Vaccines Filling/Packaging, IT Automation Engineering, Quality Control, Maintenance/Utilities Engineering, and our Supply Chain Management teams. Interns will participate in process improvement projects, which will strengthen skills in problem-solving, teamwork, collaboration, and leadership. These positions provide great personal/career development, opportunities to work on projects which positively impact business operations success, and a chance to see if our Company is the right company for their long-term career goals. 
 
The Wilson North Carolina Site houses our North American Packaging Center of Excellence AND our Global Quality’s North American Stability Hub Unit. Interns will work closely within a team of dedicated professionals who strive to understand, monitor, and improve our packaging, filling, and quality processes in order to ensure the world’s supply. At the Wilson Site there are opportunities to support day-to-day activities and strategic projects, ensuring right-first-time and cost-effective measures, directly affecting our end to end supply chain management and delivery. 
   
Our Internship’s areas of focus include, but are not limited to:

•   Demand Planning and Fulfillment 
•   Warehouse Distribution and Logistics Management 
•   New Product Launch Planning 
•   Data Analytics 
•   Lean Six Sigma 
•   IT Automation Technology and Engineering 
•   Vaccine Formulation Technology 
•   Quality Control and Calibration Engineering 
•   Maintenance and Utilities Engineering 
 
The successful candidate is:

Required Education & Experience:

Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years in a BS -OR- in a MS program in one of the following disciplines:

  • Supply Chain/Logistics 
  • Bio Engineering/ Biomedical Engineering/Biotechnology
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • IT Technology/Engineering
  • Material Science and Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Packaging Engineering 
 
*Available for a duration of 9-12 weeks during May-August 2023.
 
Preferred Experience & Skills:

•   Candidates should have previous experience in a Packaging, Manufacturing, or Quality Lab setting 
•   Candidates should have pharmaceutical or Vaccine Manufacturing Related Experience 
•  Candidates should have strong Collaboration Skills, Strong Interpersonal Skills, and Strong Communication Skills 
•   Candidates should have previous Leadership Experience in Field of Study, Military or Prior Work Experience 
•   Candidates should have Lean Six Sigma Experience/Knowledge 
•   Candidates should have strong Project Management Skills, and Ability to Work Independently 
•   Candidates should have knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
