2023 Engineering Intern --- De Soto, KS
The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Manufacturing & Supply Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.
This intern(s) will work directly with the Merck De Soto, KS Engineering team. We provide technical support for Bio Manufacturing, Shop Floor Automation, and Capital Construction projects. The summer intern projects will range from various aspects of biotechnology manufacturing, equipment and system automation improvements, specifications for new equipment, modifications to equipment, development of construction / installation documents and construction / project management. The overall goal is for the interns to gain an understanding of the role as a plant engineer in a biotech manufacturing environment.
Required Education & Experience:
- Candidates must be currently enrolled and will have completed junior year of a 4-year Bachelor of Engineering program in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, Biotechnology, Architectural, Construction Management OR related fields.
- Candidates must be available for summer term of 2023 – roughly middle of May to middle of August
- Candidates must pass a background check for access to classified systems
- Candidates must have completed 3 years of course study at an accredited engineering program
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Candidates should have good mechanical aptitude and hands on experience with equipment / machinery
