Numerical Algorithm Associate Software Engineer

SciTec has immediate opportunities for talented software & algorithm developers and engineers to support programs focusing C++ development on image processing, data fusion, and analysis applications for exploitation of remote sensing systems/Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) data in Dayton, OH.
Software engineers in this role will have the following responsibilities:
- As part of a multi-disciplinary team, support the implementation of data processing algorithms for remote sensor data. Develop algorithms and algorithm implementations which meet customer requirements for throughput, latency, and accuracy.
- Support the integration of SciTec data processing algorithms into customer software architectures. Support the design and integration of new functionality and components to enable software interoperability.
- Working with subject matter experts, transform laboratory proof-of-concepts of new data processing techniques into production-quality implementations. Communicate effectively with subject matter experts and software developers with other technology focus areas.
- Rapidly learn about customer problem domains, and identify new opportunities for development or improvement of software systems to address customer pain points.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with a team of other developers using Agile methods, distribute version control (e.g. Git), and DevOps development infrastructure.
- Develop software which meets SciTec and customer standards for maintainability, testability, security, and documentation.
Requirements
The following minimum qualifications are required for the position:
- A Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
- Demonstrated fluency in the following languages: C++
- At least one year experience using Linux operating systems
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred:
- A current active DoD SECRET security clearance or higher
- Experience with the exploitation and analysis of OPIR, E/O, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remotely sensed data
- An advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
- Professional experience with Agile software development
- Demonstrated fluency in Python

The salary range for this position is $74,000 to $89,000; however, SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
