DevSecOps Engineer

Description

SciTec, Inc. is a dynamic small business with a mission to deliver Advanced Sensor Data Exploitation technologies and Science Instrumentation Capabilities in support of National Security and Defense. SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented DecSevOps Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support programs focusing on low-latency data ingest, processing, and fusion; target tracking; mission planning; and analysis of remote sensing systems. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with systems architectures, support and security, along with deploying systems and supporting peer developers. The role is performed as part of a rapidly paced, collaborative, small-team environment consisting of Scientists, Engineers, and Developers. Members of the team work together at the office in Huntsville and collaborate remotely with personnel located at other SciTec offices.

Requirements

The following minimum qualifications are required for the position:
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or physical sciences
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies, microservices development, and DevSecOps solutions and best practices
  • Experience deploying Kubernetes locally and to cloud services such as AWS, GovCloud
  • Design containerized cloud application platform solutions for distributed application architecture
  • Experience with integrating container platforms with automated continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines
  • Experience applying new technologies, frameworks, or methodologies to containerized application development and deployments.
  • Experience with functional or imperative programming languages - e.g., Python, C++, or Java.
  • Desire for code quality, not only in writing well-crafted code, but participating in sprint planning, unit tests, and documentation in the process
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred:
  • Ability to design new CI/CD pipeline architectures and processes
  • Automation & Orchestration experience using Helm and Konvoy

The salary range for this position is $72,324 to $119,910; however, SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
