Financial Planning Analyst

Mission:

Act as Business Partner and "Financial Guardian" for the organization. Support business with financial and managerial information to enable operational decisions, to develop Puig’s brands, increase market share and achieve net revenues, profit and working capital objectives.

Beauty/Cosmetics, Retail/Fashion, Luxury Goods/Jewelry, or CPG background required.


Responsibilities/Key Tasks
Plan:

  • Analyze financial performance: conduct review of monthly results and suggest corrective actions
  • Manage Subsidiary Planning Process. Ensure internal coordination and reporting to Headquarters.
  • Plan and coordinate with other departments the development of the strategic business plan; coordinate, execute, and report to HQ tasks related to Subsidiary Planning, Budgeting, & Forecasting

Execute:

  • Provide support to the Finance function as needed.
  • Weekly sales reporting.

Month-end closing:

  • Perform all requested validations to ensure the quality of the monthly closing.
  • Month end-reporting: NA reporting packs, Retailer P&L's, sales results, etc.

Participation in cross-functional projects:

  • Support GTM projects: profitability analysis on permanent media investments, animation, Beauty consultants.
  • Support local team by sharing financial knowledge and providing Finance for non-financials.
  • Ensure accuracy of the reporting tool in SAP-BW and liaise with IT for new developments/issues.

Monitoring results:

  • Analyze monthly P&L variances versus Budget and recommend corrective actions.
  • Sales analysis: Gap sell-in sell-out, performance of new launches, reconciliations with Sales Forecast.
  • Gross to Net analysis and monitoring (price increase, evolution of trade discounts and rebates).
  • Gross Margin variance analysis – deep understanding of the Local %GP variances (prices, costs, brand mix, promo-regular mix).
  • ROI/post-mortem analysis of promo activities, recon with CPS.
  • Strict fixed costs follow-up.
  • Perform monthly expense reconciliations.
  • Prepare presentations for the executive meetings.


Skills & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Corporate Finance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel proficiency required).
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Previous experience in CPG companies is a plus.
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills are key for cross-functional collaboration and exposure to senior leadership.
  • Ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced work environment.


As required by New York City salary transparency law, effective November 2022, the expected base salary for this position ranges from $70,000 - $90,000. Various factors are considered when extending offers, such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
