I was fortunate enough for my internship to remain in person. I was able to commute to the offices in Laurel and Baltimore and go out into the field to various project sites. Whether it was walking around and observing/listening, collecting soil and groundwater samples, or even trailing a driller at an abandoned power plant, I was able to work hands-on with high class technology and tools I had never used before.
What I wish was different
Because it was in the midst of COVID19, some days were slower than others. If the circumstances were normal I was told I would have had more to do on a weekly basis, which in my opinion is beneficial and helps the time pass by quicker.
Advice
Geo-Technology Associates was a very friendly and professional company to intern with. They hire people in many different engineering and environmental fields, and are a partner company with Morris & Ritchie Associates. If you have any interest in these fields and are looking for an established firm, this is the right place to look.
