What I liked

I loved my fellow employees, my own supervisor, and the CEO that I was working with. They were all very welcoming and we had great conversations about our summer plans, the clients we were working with, and our own personal lives. I feel very lucky to work with the team that I did!

What I wish was different

A great deal of my role as the Business Development & Marketing intern revolved around social media. I ended up learning a lot and doing other marketing tasks as well, but this internship helped me realize that social media isn't what I want in my future career path.

Advice

In any job or internship, try to be someone who people want to work with. Bringing a positive attitude and great energy can go a long way!

What I liked

Multiple Fortune-500 clients, great, caring young people on the team. Cool projects within NYC!

What I wish was different

I wish I had more time with my manager. I was given tasks and put in lots of effort, but did not feel like my efforts made a difference, despite being quite proactive. Mentorship or space for creativity, were less than I’d hoped for.

Advice

Make sure to ask about the day-to-day tasks and ensure that those will help you develop skills in the areas you’re interested in. Heavy on B2B social media!
