NCM AmeriCorps Empowerment Aide serving 26 hours per week (Sep 02, 2025-Aug 28, 2026)

Network of Community Ministries (“Network”) was founded 40 years ago to provide for those in need of immediate, fundamental support. Today, Network provides comprehensive wraparound services that include a client-choice food pantry and mobile food pantry, clothing closet, case management and stabilization coaching, mental health services, senior services, and programs for children and families. Network serves the 46-square mile, 14-zipcode service area of the Richardson Independent School District that spans Dallas, Richardson, and Garland. Last year, more than 29,000 unique neighbors received services from Network. It is supported by businesses, individuals, and a coalition of religious, civic, and social organizations. The Board, staff, and volunteers embrace the organization’s mission: to care, coach, and empower our neighbors in need as they seek an improved quality of life.
 

Position Summary:

The AmeriCorps Empowerment Aide works alongside Stabilization coaches to help neighbors achieve the ultimate impact of stabilization to move towards an improved quality of life.

Responsibilities:

• Provide face-to-face case management and referral coordination
• Conduct phone intake assessments and in-person appointments
• Assess and refer clients to additional community resources
• Manage documentation for organizational purposes, as well as management and reporting for grants
• Interviewing/assessing clients in individual and group sessions to help identify barriers
• Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to measurable goals determined by the client’s action plans
• Execute Network’s service grants relating to stabilization including rent
• Aid in completing job applications, resumes, and cover letters

Schedule:

Staff is provided flexibility in their schedule. Our hours of operation to the public for this program include: Monday-Wednesday 8am to 4pm Thursday 8am to 7pm.

Preferred: 

Some college and/or experience in a nonprofit setting as a paid employee or volunteer. 

Minimum: 

High School diploma or GED. Interest in serving vulnerable populations. At least 17 years or older. U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Ability to serve flexible hours as requested - some Saturdays and evenings. Access to reliable transportation to and from host site on a daily basis. Member agree to a criminal background check.
 

This location requires a total service commitment of 1200 hours.

Benefits include
  Living Allowance of $16,800.16; paid out biweekly ($646.16)

  Education Award of $5,176.50; earned at the end of term.
