Quality & Food Safety Summer Intern

About the Role

ofi’s internship program is a great way to gain relevant experience and jump-start your career.  You will work closely with exceptional talent, building on ofi’s purpose to “Be the Change for Good Food and a Healthy Future” and contributing to critical work for the business. As a Summer 2026 Intern, you will learn and contribute to a global organization, build a robust network, demonstrate leadership skills, and have some fun along the way.   

 

As a Quality & Food Safety Intern, you will support the Quality & Food Safety team in the creation and documentation of Food Safety and Quality systems practices required for elaborating food and handling food-related materials.

The ideal candidate should be in good standing with an accredited university and have a desire to pursue a career within the food industry, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with cross-functional teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Quality & Food Safety Intern, your responsibilities may include the following

  • Conduct quality checks on finished goods
  • Documentation of procedures, instructions, and formats
  • Maintain product quality and food safety program practices, including BRC, HACCP, QA/QC, GPM, sanitation and good hygiene practices.
  • Preparation of products and participation in sensory analysis
  • Other quality tech duties as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, working toward a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding food & beverage industry requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and can maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required (Word and Excel)

The pay for this role is $22-30 /hour and is based on position responsibilities and geographic location.

 

Interns whose permanent addresses are more than 35 miles from the work location are eligible for a stipend to offset relocation and housing costs.
