Energy and Resources Summer Analyst (Utilities)

2026 Summer Internship – Energy & Resources – Utilities

About Baringa:
We set out to build the world’s most trusted consulting firm – creating lasting impact for clients and pioneering a positive, people-first way of working. We work with everyone from FTSE 100 names to bright new start-ups, in every sector.

You’ll find us collaborating shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients, from the big picture right down to the detail: helping them define their strategy, deliver complex change, spot the right commercial opportunities, manage risk, or bring their purpose and sustainability goals to life. Our clients love how we get to know what makes their organizations tick – slotting seamlessly into their teams and being proudly geeky about solving their challenges.

We have hubs in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia, and we work all around the world - from a wind farm in Wyoming to a boardroom in Berlin. Find us wherever there's a challenge to be tackled and an impact to be made.

  • You will be supporting the consulting team and our clients on engagements such as:
  • Conduct vulnerability studies to forecast the financial impact to transmission & distribution assets from the physical risks of climate change (e.g., flood, wind, heat, wildfires) and develop resilience adaptation plans to mitigate those risks
  • Coordinate development of solar and storage assets in low-income communities to enhance grid reliability and generate cost savings for consumers
  • Support regulators and utilities to improve distributed energy resources integration and quantify the full benefit stack of microgrids and behind-the-meter assets
  • Support asset owners and policymakers to shape the future of the US energy market and the roles of energy networks in enabling and delivering their net zero targets
  • Shape the strategic digital roadmap, leading vendor selection and the design and delivery of leading network management and grid optimization solutions (e.g., ADMS, DERMS, advanced planning tools, etc.) for transmission and distribution companies

By the end of the internship, you will gain a strong understanding of the key challenges facing the electricity grid and how utilities operate within their regulatory, technological, and financial context.
