Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapist
We are seeking skilled Occupational Therapists to join our Home Health Team with territories in St. Louis City and County, St. Charles County, Warren, Lincoln, Franklin, and Jefferson Counties. Cooperative Home Care is a locally owned and operated home care company with a referral-heavy Home Health division. We are looking for occupational therapists to cover the clients in a set territory: company car and gas card are provided. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and conduct occupational therapy programs in hospital, institutional, or community settings to help rehabilitate those impaired because of illness, injury or psychological or developmental problems.  
  • Select activities that will help individuals learn work and life-management skills within limits of their mental and physical capabilities.  
  • Complete and maintain necessary records.  
  • Recommend changes in patients' work or living environments, consistent with their needs and capabilities.  
  • Consult with rehabilitation team to select activity programs and coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities.  
  • Design and create, or requisition, special supplies and equipment, such as splints, braces and computer-aided adaptive equipment.  
  • Provide training and supervision in therapy techniques and objectives for students and nurses and other medical staff.  
  • Advise on health risks in the workplace and on health-related transition to retirement.  
  • Provide patients with assistance in locating and holding jobs.  
  • Guide the patient in the use of therapeutic creative and self-care activities for the purpose of improving function.  
  • Instruct other health team personnel, including, when appropriate, home health aides and family members in certain phases of occupational therapy in which they may work with the patient.  


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • Excellent knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Missouri
