JFS is seeking a motivated undergraduate intern to join our Senior Services team. This role offers hands-on experience addressing critical issues like food insecurity and senior wellness while developing professional skills essential for careers in public health, public policy, nonprofit management, and social work.

Key Areas of Learning & Experience
The intern will work under the supervision of the Senior Shopper Program Coordinator to gain experience in:
Area of Growth
Core Responsibilities & Skill Development
Addressing Food Insecurity
Actively manage logistics for the Senior Shopper Program, ensuring homebound older adults receive timely grocery and food pantry deliveries. This role directly impacts client health and nutrition.
Program Coordination
The intern helps coordinate the logistics and operations of JFS programs, focusing on resource distribution to homebound residents of Somerset County, NJ.
Nonprofit Management
Learn the day-to-day operational management of social services, including efficient resource allocation and program scheduling.
Community Relations
Serve as an official representative for JFS at local community and outreach events, building professional networking and communication skills.
Communication & Ethics
Sharpen professional and ethical communication skills by corresponding with clients, volunteers, staff, and supervisors in a confidential, timely, and professional manner.
Volunteer Leadership
Strengthen practical volunteer coordination skills through direct interaction and support of our dedicated volunteer base.
