Summer 2026 Community Health Outreach Internships – Cancer Center
Make a real impact in cancer prevention and community health this summer!
The Masonic Cancer Alliance (MCA), the outreach network of The University of Kansas Cancer Center, is seeking paid Summer 2026 Community Health Outreach Interns to support cancer prevention and early detection efforts across Kansas and western Missouri.
As a Community Health Outreach Intern, you’ll play a hands-on role in bringing health education and cancer prevention resources directly to communities.
Deadline to apply is: February 27th.
Interviews for those selected will take place online in March 2025. Internship will start mid-May - July.
Applicants must complete the entire 8 weeks of the program.
Job Responsibilities
Support Pool Cool and Camp Cool sun-safety education programs at pools and camps across Kansas and western Missouri – travel required.
Assist with health fairs and promotional booths.
Assist at MCA community events, meetings, and outreach activities.
Maintain records and data tracking for summer projects.
Refresh and update marketing and educational materials for sun safety programs.
Help grow, expand, and plan health education programs.
Promote programs through social media and digital outreach.
Build community connections with partners and participants.

Work Environment
Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
Reliable transportation is required, as this position involves frequent daily travel across Kansas and western Missouri. Mileage will be reimbursed.
