About the role
Want a job that’s high-energy, people-focused, and actually builds real career skills—while working around puppies? As a Pet Counselor, you’ll help guests meet puppies, learn what they need to be successful pet parents, and choose the right pet + supplies for their lifestyle.
This is a sales + customer experience role with structured training, coaching, and a clear step-by-step process.
Pay (Hourly + Commission)
This position is hourly + commission, so your earnings grow with your performance.
- Typical range can vary widely based on sales and hours worked
- Team members earn the equivalent of $8/hr up to $100/hr depending on performance.
(We’ll explain the pay plan clearly during the interview.)
What you’ll do
- Greet guests and create a fun, welcoming experience
- Guide guests through puppy visits and help match the right pet to the right home
- Ask questions to understand lifestyle, preferences, and readiness
- Educate guests on breed traits, training, health, and what to expect as new pet parents
- Follow our proven sales process (we train you)
- Recommend supplies and solutions that set customers up for success
- Keep your area clean, organized, and guest-ready
- Work as a team to hit goals and celebrate wins
What we’re looking for
- Friendly, confident communicator (you like talking to people)
- Coachable and motivated—open to feedback and learning
- Dependable and punctual
- Comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment
- Weekend availability is a big plus (that’s when we’re busiest)
Great fit for students who want experience in:
