Remote LPCC Outpatient Counselor
Description
Affirm Counseling is seeking an LPCC‑level Remote Outpatient Counselor (Colorado) to provide individual telehealth counseling to adults and adolescents within an LGBTQIA+‑affirming, trauma‑informed practice. Success in this role looks like building a strong, attuned caseload, collaborating well in supervision and team consultation, and offering culturally responsive, anti‑oppressive care to clients with diverse identities and complex trauma histories. This position is designed as an early‑career role with robust supervision and training, helping you grow toward independent LPC practice while strengthening our mission to provide high‑quality, affirming care across Colorado.
Responsibilities
Provide weekly individual psychotherapy via secure telehealth platforms to adults and adolescents.
Complete diagnostic assessments, formulate treatment plans, and document progress in the EHR in a timely, accurate manner.
Implement evidence‑based and trauma‑informed interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT‑informed skills, ACT, MI, parts/relational work) tailored to client needs.
Offer gender‑affirming, LGBTQIA+‑affirming counseling that is culturally responsive and sensitive to minority stress and intersecting identities.
Participate consistently in individual and group clinical supervision, integrating feedback into clinical work.
Collaborate with internal team members and external providers to support coordinated, client‑centered care.
Maintain a professional, confidential home office environment appropriate for telehealth sessions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Option A (preferred): Current Colorado LPCC, or eligibility for LPCC in Colorado within 3 months of hire (master’s degree requirements completed).
Option B: Advanced master’s student in a counseling/CMHC program in Colorado who is:
Within 1–2 semesters of graduation,
Cleared by their program for paid clinical work outside of practicum/internship, and
Planning to apply for Colorado LPCC promptly after degree completion.
Approximately 2 years remaining until LPC eligibility (actively accruing or planning to accrue required post‑graduate supervised hours).
Experience providing individual counseling in outpatient, community mental health, or comparable settings.
Demonstrated commitment to LGBTQIA+‑affirming, trauma‑informed, and culturally responsive practice.
Strong skills in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical documentation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong boundaries, and solid time‑management in a remote work environment.
