GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) supports the delivery of high-quality, person-centered healthcare services to individuals Richcroft supports. This role provides essential clinical and administrative assistance to the nursing team, with a strong emphasis on maintaining medical records, supporting documentation compliance, accuracy, coordination, and support of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Administrative & Documentation Support
- File, organize, and maintain medical and nursing records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards
- Perform accurate and timely data entry into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of medical documentation
- Assist with audits, chart reviews, and record requests as needed
Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Utilize and navigate the EMR system efficiently
- Enter, update, and retrieve client medical information
- Support nursing staff with EMR-related tasks, documentation, and compliance needs
Collaboration & Compliance
- Work closely with nurses and administrative staff to support high-quality care delivery
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all federal, state, and organizational regulations
- Support Richcroft’s mission, values, and commitment to individuals with disabilities
Office and Clerical Support
- Use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) to create, update, and manage documents, spreadsheets, and correspondence
- Assist with scheduling, scanning, copying, and other clerical duties
- Communicate professionally with internal staff and external providers as needed
Required Experience and Education
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
- High school diploma or equivalent
- EMR experience and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Competencies and Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or human services settings
- Experience supporting individuals with I/DD
