R&D Intern – Emulsion and Dispersion Evaluation

Overview
The R&D Intern – Emulsion and Dispersion Evaluation will support Shamrock’s R&D team by cataloging and systematically evaluating existing emulsions and dispersions, including both developmental and commercial products. The role focuses on assessing material properties and relative performance across multiple applications to generate actionable technical insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage project activities to meet defined milestones and objectives
  • Catalog emulsion and dispersion samples and maintain a structured inventory
  • Conduct laboratory testing to evaluate physical, chemical, and application-relevant properties
  • Compare performance across formulations and application areas
  • Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and project documentation
  • Communicate results and progress updates to senior R&D staff
  • Learn and apply new testing and evaluation techniques as needed

Qualifications

  • Current sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a degree in Chemistry or a related field
  • Completion of Organic Chemistry coursework (or higher)
  • Hands-on experience with basic chemistry laboratory techniques through coursework or prior work experience
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety practices and proper documentation
