Responsibilities

Assist doctors during exams, procedures, and treatments

Restrain dogs and cats safely and confidently

Perform sample collection (blood, urine, fecal) and run in-house diagnostics

Prepare and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical equipment

Administer medications as instructed (oral, injectable, topical)

Monitor patients during procedures and recovery

Communicate professionally with clients and team members

Maintain cleanliness and follow hospital safety protocols

Minimum Requirements

Current enrollment in or completion of a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technology program preferred

Ability to lift 40+ lbs and handle active animals safely

Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Willingness to learn, take direction, and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

Basic computer skills; comfort using medical software (training provided)

Preferred Skills

Experience in a veterinary hospital, shelter, or animal care setting

Venipuncture and catheter placement

Digital radiography positioning

Anesthetic monitoring

Knowledge of common veterinary medications, vaccines, and preventive care

Fear-Free handling techniques
