VA Providence Post-Baccalaureate-Registered Nurse Residency
Program Description:
¨ The PB-RNR Residency is a 12–Month Protected Experience. You will NOT be counted as staff and will have a preceptor working with you for the entirety of the program.
¨ Clinical Rotations include Med/Surg, ICU, PACU/OR, Surgical Clinics, Primary Care, Dialysis, and ED, among others.
¨ You will become competent in various technical (i.e., IV and urinary catheter insertion, wound care, etc. ) and critical thinking skills.
¨ You will have opportunities to attend experiences outside the Providence VA, such as a Spinal Cord Injury Orientation and Burn Symposium.
Upon successful completion of the Residency Program, the RN will :
¨ Successfully transition from entry-level
beginner nurse to competent, professional nurse who provides safe, quality care.
¨ Demonstrate effective decision-making skills related to clinical judgment & performance.
¨ Incorporate research & other scientific evidence into practice.
¨ Demonstrate clinical leadership at the point of practice.
¨ Practice collaboratively as members of the inter-professional healthcare team.
