After School Program Leader

The After School Scholar is looking for enthusiastic, dependable, and caring individuals to join our team as an After School Program Leader. This is a great opportunity for college students and others who enjoy working with children and want to make a positive impact while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

As an After School Program Leader, you will help create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for elementary-aged students after school. Responsibilities include supervising students, assisting with homework, leading educational and recreational activities, encouraging positive behavior, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, communicating professionally with parents and coworkers, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed.

We're looking for individuals with strong communication and interpersonal skills who are dependable, punctual, energetic, patient, and able to work well as part of a team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, can confidently supervise groups of students, demonstrates good judgment, and can adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from approximately 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
  • Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening.
  • Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Experience working with children through schools, tutoring, camps, daycare, coaching, babysitting, or similar settings is preferred but not required.

This position is especially valuable for students pursuing careers in Education, Early Childhood Education, Exceptional Student Education, Psychology, Child Development, Social Work, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Counseling, and other child-focused fields.
