An Optometric Technician assists optometrists by performing preliminary eye exams, conducting diagnostic tests like visual acuity and eye pressure measurements, and maintaining patient records and equipment. Key duties include preparing examination rooms, assisting with in-office procedures, educating patients on eye care and contact lens use, and performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and handling billing. Technicians work in eye care settings, supporting patient flow and overall clinic operations under the supervision of a licensed optometrist. Schedule appointments and verify insurance benefits.
