Medical Assistant
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant (MA) supports providers and nursing staff by assisting with patient flow, clinical preparation, procedure support, recovery monitoring, and documentation. This role ensures efficient clinic operations while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced specialty practice.
The Medical Assistant plays a key role in a positive patient experience by maintaining clinic efficiency and supporting procedural readiness.
Clinical Support & Patient Flow
- Room patients and prepare them for provider evaluation
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, medications, and allergies
- Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic day
- Prepare and clean exam rooms between patients
Front Desk & Patient Interaction
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a warm, professional manner
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently
- Ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately
- Provide general assistance to visitors and help navigate the facility
- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable reception area
Scheduling & Communication
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls
- Schedule, confirm, and modify patient appointments
- Respond to patient inquiries and route calls to appropriate staff
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and patient transportation as needed
- Communicate effectively with providers and clinical staff
- Assisting with referral coordination by registering patients, faxing necessary documentation, and facilitating the scheduling of initial consultations.
- Contribute to a team-based approach to patient care by maintaining professional communication with providers, nurses, care coordinators, and front desk staff
- Escalate concerns appropriately following clinic protocol
- Accurately document patient information in the EMR
- Maintain compliance with clinic protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Support quality tracking and required documentation processes.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor Degree in Health Care Administration, Psychology, Chemistry, Nursing, Biology, or related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a specialty or procedural clinic.
- Familiarity with EMR systems.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday day shift. Part-Time Opportunities available
