2022 Oxford University Press Internship

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

We are seeking passionate and responsible interns to join Oxford University Press for our virtual summer internship program. Our paid virtual summer internship roles will vary from entry-level MarketingEditorialFinance, and Content Delivery departments. You will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of the daily routines and procedures in one of these departments. The focus of this internship is for you to learn about and gain experience in the Academic Publishing industry. 
The virtual internship dates will be from June 2022 through August 2022 (exact dates are flexible).
Your cover letter should include the following information: your department of interest (Marketing, Finance, etc.), why you are pursuing your current degree (if any), and why you’re interested in working at OUP.

You can expect some of the following responsibilities:
  • Answer vendor and author phone inquiries; when necessary, direct calls to the appropriate department
  • Perform clerical duties such as composing and managing emails
  • Assist in preparing information and research materials; create, maintain, and sometimes present PowerPoint presentations
  • Occasionally take notes during meetings; type documents, drafts, and reports; sort and manage files
  • Shadow multiple sub-departments and train in a variety of tasks
  • Occasionally update and post supervised social media and website content; respond to web correspondence, social media posts, and emails

ABOUT YOU

  • Possess an interest in Publishing
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Possess online research abilities and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Comfortable asking questions and engaging in team discussion
  • Passionate, curious, and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a virtual environment  

Location: The internship opportunities are fully virtual and working hours will be based only on Eastern Standard Time. There are multiple openings available for each department listed above.
