The Trainer Intern’s responsibilities include assisting with various projects within Riverside/Optum’s administrative and operations functions at the 1 Harmon Plaza, Secaucus, NJ location./Hybrid . Working on an EPIC EMR training project. This role may extend to support our Southern New Jersey clinics.
**This is a full-time internship position and will be available starting June 2022**
This role does have an expectation of being in office periodically at the Secaucus, NJ location.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support all Epic EMR (electronic medical record) training project implementations
  • Assist the Director to design and develop training programs 
  • Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university during the duration of the internship. Internships are not intended for graduating seniors
  • Experience training and facilitating
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Communication, Training, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or other Healthcare related degree
  • Master’s degree in the following: Public Health or Healthcare Administration, training and development, organizational development, Communication
  • Intended graduation date of May 2023 for undergraduate candidates
  • Experience using learning management systems
  • Work experience in ADDIE Adult Learning theory methodology (Needs Assessment, Design, Development, Implementation & Evaluation)
  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate setting
  • Background in EPIC EMR training
  • Clinical background is a plus (as a medical assistant, patient care coordinator, nursing assistant, etc.)
  • Proficiency in articulate or another e-learning authoring tool or platform
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
