Special Needs Care Provider (Location: Arroyo Grande, CA)

Your Role & Responsibilities:

Becoming a Live-In Special Needs Care Provider means you are matched with a Host Family here in the United States for a duration of at least 12 months. During this time you will work with one family, providing dedicated support for their child/children with special needs. Partnering with parents and becoming part of the child’s multidisciplinary team of therapists and educators, you will help the child to achieve their developmental goals and reach milestones. As a Live-In Special Needs Care Provider, you not only gain practical and professional experience by working alongside experts in the field of a wide range of therapy and support disciplines, but you will also be able to explore a different part of the country while having room and board covered and being paid a weekly salary.

Every family has different needs, but here are some examples of what your responsibilities as a Live-In Special Needs Care Provider may include:

  • Support children or young adults with developmental delays or disabilities and help them develop positive behaviors and social skills
  • Work with and become part of multidisciplinary therapy team to deliver extraordinary care
  • Assist children with their daily school curriculum and homework
  • Attend therapy sessions and provide feedback
  • Provide support with daily living activities and related care needs
  • Connect with parents for a smooth transition at the end of the day

Requirements:
  • Ability to relocate and do a live-in position
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with special needs or developmental delays
  • In the process of completing or holding a degree or certification in a special needs' related field. (Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Counseling, ABA Therapy)
  • Must be empathetic, fun, and authentic
  • Active driver's license
  • Authorized to work in the US
