HSS Enterprise Credentialing & Academic Promotions (ECAP) Student Intern

The mission of the HSS Education Institute at Hospital for Special Surgery is to be a source for outstanding initiatives in education, training, research and information for local, national and international communities to prevent and treat musculoskeletal conditions and enhance patient care.

The Internal and External customers of Enterprise Credentialing & Academic Promotions (ECAP) include current members of the HSS Graduate Medical Staffs, Medical Staffs & Allied Health Professional Staffs, applicants seeking clinical privileges at HSS, HSS Departments as they relate to the Medical Staff, Office of Faculty Affairs at Weill Cornell Medical College and the Medical Board office of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

The Intern will provide support to the ECAP Department in the following areas:
  • Collect required credentialing documentation for members of the HSS Graduate Medical Staffs, Medical Staffs & Allied Health Professional Staffs and follow-up as required to obtain clarification/ verification of application responses/materials
  • Collect required credentialing documentation for In-rotating and Consulting residents/fellows and follow-up as required to obtain clarification/verification of application responses/materials
  • Provide administrative support (data entry and filing as needed) with re-credentialing projects
  • Participate in Education Institute projects and activities as requested
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all business/work and medical staff information

Qualifications:
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete projects independently within established timeframes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Schedule: Fall 2022 internship – ending in December 31, 2022
Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week on weekdays for the duration of the internship.

Small Stipend or Course credit available may be offered (on a case by case basis)
