Summary

This position is in the Office of the Regional Administrator Region 1, Air and Radiation Division, Air Permits, Toxics and Indoor Programs Branch. If selected, you must work at the location stated in this announcement. Salary will be based on the grade level for which you are selected.

Duties

At the entry level of this position, you will:
  • Perform scientific assessments, complex technical review, and modeling analyses and make recommendations on modeling projects covering a wide variety of meteorological, topographical, and source conditions and issues associated with ambient air quality monitoring;
  • Develop air pollution studies using specialized dispersion modeling programs, statistical techniques, and prepare basic technical support documents describing the studies and results;
  • Serve as the Air and Radiation Division’s resource on regulatory initiatives and other projects related to ambient air modeling, meteorology, and atmospheric science. 

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.
