Staff Full Stack Developer

Description
SciTec, Inc. is a dynamic small business with a mission to deliver Advanced Sensor Data Exploitation technologies and Science Instrumentation Capabilities in support of National Security and Defense. SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Full Stack Software Developer in Princeton, NJ to support programs focusing on low-latency data ingest, processing, fusion, target tracking, mission planning, and analysis of remote sensing systems. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Python web frameworks such as FastAPI and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Helm, thrive as part of a rapidly paced, collaborative, small-team environment consisting of Scientists, Engineers, and Developers, and be able to prototype, develop, integrate, and test advanced software solutions. Members of the team work together at the office in Princeton and collaborate remotely with personnel located at other SciTec offices.

Requirements
The following minimum qualifications are required for the position:
  • A Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
  • Experience with functional or imperative programming languages - e.g., Python, C++, or Java
  • Experience with REST API specifications
  • Experience developing UIs that display, manage, and status real-time events
  • Experience with Git and Git frontends such as GitLab
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and related web technologies such as Node.js and React
  • Demonstrable understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process), design patterns and Object-Oriented analysis, design, and programming
  • Desire for code quality, not only in writing well-crafted code, but participating in sprint planning, unit tests, and documentation in the process
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred:

  • An advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
  • Schema design and experience in SQL/NoSQL
  • Professional experience with DevSecOps
  • Experience with Cesium

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $109,000; however, SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
