Student Trainee (Biological Science)
You must be able to work full time in the summer. This position is a temporary position not to exceed 30-Sep-2023 with the possibility to be extended up to an additional year, not to exceed a total appointment of 24 months.
Duties
Pathways Internship positions provide for development and training. Assignments become more responsible as incumbent increases knowledge and skills through work experience and academic training. At the full-performance level, you will be expected to
- Collect and assemble biological or related environmental information for specific projects or geographic areas.
- Review files, publications, library holdings, and other agency materials to obtain sufficient information to prepare biological data reports, species accounts or related assessments.
- Accompany professional staff in the field to project areas to map, identify, verify, count, or collect plant or animal species. You may conduct simple field inspections independently.
- Prepare maps using data from existing project documents, library research or files of other agencies.
