Haeger Service Technician

POSITION: Haeger PEM Service Technician

LOCATION: Northeast region (based out of Shelby Township)

  • PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited, individual to be a part of our Service team. As the Haeger PEM Service Technician at PennEngineering, you’ll collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things. The Service Technician is responsible for providing technical support on all models of Haeger and PEMserter machines, tooling, and components utilizing skills and experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic assembly. This position provides technical service support to the customer via telephone, electronic communication, and in the field as required which will include up to 75% travel by both air and automobile.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Performs the job of Haeger / PEMSERTER Service Technician in its entirety with a minimum of supervision.
  • Follows prints, schematics, instructions, and internal documents to assemble machines/sub-assemblies according to the drawings and bill of material supplied.
  • Exercises good judgment, accuracy, and efficiency in assembling, troubleshooting, and maintaining all Haeger and Pemserter® products.
  • Tests all components, both individually, as well as the total assembly, for proper and standard functions, as specified.
  • Travel to customer locations to perform commissioning and service calls on Haeger and Pemserter products when needed.
  • Follows company Service policies in the execution of duties.
  • Exercise independent judgment and creativity in solving customer technical problems
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism in servicing customers with respect, thoroughness, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Generates documentation to internal and external technical and sales staff on service updates, product availability and technical services available. Also, provides training to the Haeger / PEMSERTER® Distributors and Representatives as required.
  •  Estimates repair costs for machines and tooling and quotes the customer accordingly.
  • Takes initiative in support of customer, distributor, and fellow team members.
 
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • 0-2 years’ experience interpreting schematics, instructions, and internal documents in order to service machines/sub-assemblies according to the drawings and bill of material supplied.
  • Working directly with customers at their location is a plus
  • Minimum Highschool degree
  • Experience with developing and providing cost estimates to customers is preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface and coordinate with other departments
  • Strong communication skills including listening, oral and written
