Intelligence Specialist (PALACE Acquire) - Kirtland AFB, NM

The United States Air Force Civilian Intelligence Careers is currently looking for individuals qualified and interested in positions as an Intelligence Specialist in the Intelligence PALACE Acquire (PAQ) program at various locations. If you have recently graduated or will graduate soon with a Bachelor, or advanced degree, hold at least a 2.95 GPA, and are interested in learning more, please see the announcement below.

The Palace Acquire (PAQ) Program offers the opportunity to occupy a full-time position during a three-year FORMAL development program and is intended to develop broad gauged individuals who can deal effectively with change and complexity within the Air Force environment as it relates to the Intelligence Community. You may receive promotions and yearly salary increases based upon successful performance. Upon completion of the Intelligence PAQ Program, you are placed on a permanent position making it a great opportunity to begin a successful civilian career.

As a PAQ, you will learn a wide variety of intelligence functions in the areas of collection, analysis, production, and dissemination. PAQs apply knowledge of the assigned organization and basic structure of the Intelligence community (IC). They employ methods of collecting, analyzing, and evaluating multiple sources of intelligence data to assess developments, trends, and threat implications for senior level policy and decision-makers. PAQs research and review products involving political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, scientific or military conditions, patterns, and forces in foreign areas which directly or indirectly affect national security. PAQs areas of analytical focus may include political/military studies, air/air defense/space studies, foreign area studies, foreign weapons systems, and counterintelligence.

The Intelligence PAQ Program emphasizes gaining new analytic skills and using information, not simply managing it. The Air Force is seeking candidates to desire to work in a virtual, collaborative, multi-domain, cloud-based, Machine Intelligence-powered Enterprise.

Throughout your three-year program, we offer a myriad of training, analytical, and leadership opportunities as a critical part of your professional development plan. ALL PAQs will be scheduled for a six-month Intelligence Officer training course at Goodfellow AFB, (San Angelo), TX at the Air Force’s expense. You must successfully complete Intelligence Officer School to continue in the program.

Requirements:
All accredited degrees are reviewed; however, degrees in the fields of International Law, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, History, Engineering, Geography, Geospatial, Foreign Language, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Social or Cultural Anthropology, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or in the Humanities, are preferred.
The Intelligence PAQ Program is looking for candidates who can conduct research, are critical thinkers, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

 Conditions of employment:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Graduated or will graduate soon with a Bachelor or advanced degree
  • At least a 2.95 GPA
  • Required to serve a 2-year probationary period under DCIPS
  • Mobility Agreement - you may be required to relocate during or after completion of your training
  • May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties
  • The employee must also sign a Statement of Understanding prior to occupying a DCIPS position
  • A Top Secret Clearance is a requirement of this position and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Selectee must complete a Special Background investigation and receive a favorable adjudication by a determining authority. Failure to obtain and maintain this required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal from the agency.

  • If selected for a position, an official birth certificate, passport or Certificate of Naturalization will be required to verify citizenship prior to employment

Qualifications

You may qualify if you meet one of the following:

1. You have completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. Preferred fields of study are: Political Science, Economics, History, International Relations, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Geography, Geospatial, Foreign Language, Psychology or Criminal Justice, however all degrees will be considered. (Submit a copy of ALL OFFICIAL transcripts or current unofficial transcripts if currently enrolled). Degree must be conferred and received prior to receiving firm job offer from an accredited institution. Must have at least a 2.95 GPA.

OR

2. You have one full year (18 semester hours or the equivalent) of graduate level study, or possess a master's or higher degree, in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work of this position. Such fields Political Science, Economics, History, International Relations, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Geography, Geospatial, Foreign Language, Psychology or Criminal Justice, are highly desirable, however all degrees will be considered.
