Location: Hauppauge, NY
Work schedule: Monday - Friday (6AM - 2PM), Tuesday-Saturday (6AM - 2PM) or Flexible between 6AM -2PM.
Starting Salary: $169,911
Job Duties:
  • Directs and supervises medical practices and procedures for the operation of Suffolk Opioid Treatment Program;
  • Organizes and staffs Suffolk County Opioid Treatment Clinics;
  • Implements medical policy and maintains standards of performance;
  • Supervises the performance of clinical staff assigned to the Suffolk County Opioid Treatment Clinics;
  • Provides general clinical supervision and administrative direction for all personnel assigned to the Suffolk County Opioid Treatment Clinics;
  • Works with other agencies, both public and private, in promoting the aims of the Suffolk County Opioid Treatment Clinics;
  • Shall diagnose and treat patients within the area of competency: including monitoring health needs/referring for complimentary services, prescribing medications, consulting with the clinical team, completing all necessary clinical documentation in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for assuring all medical, psychiatric, nursing, pharmacy, toxicology, and other services offered at the Opioid Treatment Clinics are conducted in compliance with federal regulations at all times.
Type of license or certificate required: Possession of a license to practice medicine in the State of New York and two (2) years of experience as a licensed physician in the field of assignment.
Qualifications and Skills: The medical director should have completed an accredited residency training program and have at least one (1) year of experience in addiction medicine or addiction psychiatry. Board certification in his or her primary medical specialty and in addiction psychiatry or addiction medicine is preferred.

· -Vacation Time: During the first year, employees are entitled to 10 Vacation days, earned at the rate of 2.75 per pay period totaling 10 days annually. Employees continue to earn vacation days in accordance with the schedule, reaching a maximum of 30 days per year. Unused vacation time rolls over each year until a maximum of 420 hours is reached.
· Sick Time: Earned at the rate of 1/2 day per pay period totaling 13 days annually. Unused sick time is rolled over each year, with no maximum rollover.
· Personal Leave: An employee is granted 4 days of personnel leave each year. Employees receive 7.5 hours on their 1st day and will accrue one additional day every quarter. After employee first anniversary 28 hours of personal days will be frontloaded at the beginning of each year worked. Unused personal time is rolled over into sick each year with no maximum rollover.
· Salary: Step increase every 12 months on July 1st completed year of service in addition to contractual raises through 2024.
· Membership in the New York State Retirement Pension System 5 year vested. In order to retire with Health benefits you need to work a total of 10 continuous years with the county and be 55.
