Impact & Responsibilities: Provides mental health assessments, intervention services, treatment planning, and therapy to a diverse student population; practices in accordance with appropriate legal and ethical standards; provides personalized care plans and referrals to appropriate services on and off campus; serves as a point of contact for students seeking assistance and ensures their ongoing engagement with relevant resources by identifying available support systems to meet the student's needs; collaborates with university departments, services, faculty, and staff to coordinate support for students; implements crisis intervention strategies and provides support to students in distress; supervises intern, practicum and graduate assistant students; attends and participates in department, division, and university committees and professional development activities; and consults with faculty, staff, students, family members, and community resources concerning counseling needs of students.
Requirements: Master's degree in mental health counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy or related field; at least one year of experience in care coordination or case management and at least one year of experience providing direct client therapy; full licensure (t-LMHC, LMHC, LMSW, LISW, or LMFT) to practice in Iowa as a mental health counselor, psychologist, social worker, or marriage and family therapist.
Preferred: College counseling center experience and experience serving diverse and underserved populations.
