Paradigm Changers Alternative Investments Summer Intern

The Paradigm Changers Internship program, presented by the National Association of Investment Companies and the American Investment Council, as a part of the larger Women in Alternatives Initiative (developed to improve the representation of diverse female professionals in the alternative investment industry), provides an opportunity for ethnically diverse college women to gain the skills, knowledge, and exposure needed to pursue a career in alternative investments (private equity, private debt, hedge funds, real estate, etc.).

The program accepts undergraduate and graduate students from a broad range of academic disciplines, including, but not limited to healthcare, technology, mathematics, computer science, law, business, and engineering, and pairs them with various NAIC member firms across the U.S., for an immersive hands on experience in the world of alternative investments.

About the Program

  • Customized pre-internship alternative investments training that provides participants with an essential understanding of capital markets and introduces some of the skills needed for the internship
  • 8-10 week paid internship at an alternative investment firm
  • In person kickoff training and networking mixer that allows participants to be immersed into program expectations ahead of internship start dates
  • Monthly career development and networking sessions led by senior women who share their career journeys and offer resources to help participants navigate a career in alternative investments

Who Should Apply

The undergraduate track is open to ethnically diverse rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors currently enrolled in or transferring to a four-year U.S. university.

The graduate track is open to ethnically diverse women who are applying to or have been accepted to an accredited, U.S.-based graduate school program.
