The Worcester EcoTarium seeks applications from students pursuing degrees in history, museum collections, or library sciences.  This project will give our intern experience with primary source research, information management, and archival methods, including use of the industry-standard PastPerfect collection registration database.

 

 

Gain experience in: 

  • Archive management principles and practices
  • Historical research
  • Natural history topics
  • Museum administration and operations

 

Duties include:

  • Work with collection management staff to organize and archival material
  • Preserve and protect documents and photographs
  • Digitize data for worldwide availability
  • Create a final project based on daily work, in line with your current course of study 
  • Specific activities will be determined by ability, interest, and availability of the intern.

 

Requirements:

  • Interest and/or experience with archives, museum collections, photography, or data management
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Organisation and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in how archives connect people with their history
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, Asante Twi, Vietnamese, or Latin preferred. 
  • Must pass a CORI/SORI background check
