Museum Education Experience Program- Internship

The American Museum of Natural History is accepting Museum Education Experience Program (MEEP) applications for Summer 2024. The MEEP Internship program encourages students to explore the intersection of science, community, and communication. It is designed to provide students with a hands-on, immersive experiences at the American Museum of Natural History. 

 

Why MEEP? 

Ignite Curiosity: MEEP Interns are encouraged to deepen their understanding of the world and actively seek knowledge, new ideas, and experiences within our immersive halls and digital archives. 

Sharpen Communication: MEEP interns develop strong communication skills through practicing active listening and valuing conversations as tools for learning, growth and the public good.

Expand Collaboration & Coalition: MEEP interns work together, fostering personal and collective growth through feedback and reflection. Interns contribute to a movement towards equity by encouraging others to share their perspectives and strengthening community connections to the natural world. 

Internship Details

Duration: June 3, 2024 - August 9, 2024

Time Commitment: Over the course of the Summer program, interns will be assigned up to 20 hours a week for the duration of the internship. This time includes mandatory workshops, special events, and additional tasks.

Location: In-person at the American Museum of Natural History- 200 Central Park West, New York NY 10024

 

What Interns Will Do:

-Learn about science communication and Museum education strategies.

-Research and write about particular exhibits within the Museum.

- Initiate engaging science conversations with museum visitors.

- Elevate the understanding and connection to science content in exhibition spaces.

Application Requirements:

- Must be a current undergraduate student

- Completed at least one semester of college.

- Reside or attend school in New York City.
