INSPIRE-US Summer Research Program

Are you interested in making a difference or pursuing a research career? The Intensive Summer Education Program in Translational Research for Underrepresented Students (INSPIRE-US program) at Case Western Reserve University is your gateway to a transformative summer experience in Clinical and Translational Science (CTS). 

The National Institutes of Health defines clinical and translational science as converting observations made in the laboratory, clinic, and community into interventions that enhance the health of individuals and the public at large. This includes everything from diagnostics and therapeutics to medical procedures and behavioral changes.

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled in Associate's or Bachelor's degree program at a college or university
  • Self-identify as an underrepresented racial minority in CTS ( This includes students who identify as Black or African American,
    Hispanic or Latino, American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander)
  • Be a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (Have permanent residency card or a green card).

 

Why INSPIRE-US?

The INSPIRE-US Program addresses the underrepresentation of racial minorities as scientists and in other CTS-related careers. Our program is designed for undergraduates and will allow participants to explore diverse career paths, gain hands-on research experiences, and build a network of mentors and peers. The program aims to give you the skills and confidence for a successful CTS-related career.
