Laboratory Technician

Verinomics is a forward-thinking bio-research company committed to exploring the endless possibilities that nature presents us by improving human health, food quality throughout innovations in agriculture. We are currently looking for both full- and part-time Laboratory Technicians to support our team in our state-of-the-art lab located in New Haven, CT. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory and will offer a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

1. Experience with making chemical solutions and media for laboratory experiments and procedures
2. Experience with sterile techniques including plant tissue cultures
3. Familiarity with methods for DNA extraction, PCR and sequencing 
4. Adhering to all standard operating procedures and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

1. Experience in a lab setting is a plus.
2. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to carefully follow instructions.
3. Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
4. Knowledge of and experience with sterilization techniques and biological safety protocols is desirable.
5. Ability to handle delicate lab equipment and specimens.
6. Excellent communication skills
