Marketing Team Lead
We are looking for creative and detail-oriented individual that is currently enrolled or recently graduated from college with background in marketing and/or chemistry and leadership to join
ChemTalk to lead our Marketing and Outreach Team. As head of the marketing team, you will be responsible for the creative direction and strategy of marketing campaigns as well as working closely with the social media team to track metrics and help further develop ChemTalk as a nonprofit organization. The marketing team lead will work jointly with the social media team lead to run a joint team to promote and grow the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Small Team Management: Manage a team of 3-4 interns who are working to further ChemTalk as an organization and increase social media engagement. This includes promoting ChemTalk projects such as the Academic Enhancement and Career Success program (AECS). Management includes ensuring interns are on track with their goals and supporting interns in their work and times of need.
Maintaining and Setting Goals: Settings goals for metrics including social media and site traffic. In addition, this individual should identify methods to improve metrics and provide feedback to leads team. This includes using metrics and traffic to learn what works for the organization and strategize for future projects.
Merch Handling: Aid in development and marketing of a new ChemTalk merch project.
Collaboration with other ChemTalk teams: Collaborate with the social media team lead on projects as well as with other ChemTalk leads to advertise their projects.
Newsletter Creation: Create and send out a monthly newsletter describing ChemTalk’s current initiatives.
Required Experience and Skills:
Educational Background: Currently enrolled in or graduated from a university with experience in business, marketing, and/or the STEM fields.
Leadership: Previous leadership experience and organizational management.
Communication: Clear and effective communication skills to convey necessary projects to interns, as well as maintaining active communication between leads and interns within the social media and marketing team.
Time Management: Capability to manage time efficiently to meet deadlines as well as ensure interns are meeting their deadlines.
Collaboration: Willingness to share ideas and collaborate with other team members and leads in order to further develop outreach projects.
Applications: Experience with Canva, Mailchimp or other newsletter software, and social media platforms.
