Job description

Silverthorne Day Care currently has an opportunity for a Activities Assistant/PCA who is responsible for providing a stimulating environment and caring environment for program participants through daily activities.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday (8:00am - 3:00pm)

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for helping to plan, prepare, and coordinate activities.
• Cleans up following activities.
• Develops strong relationships with participants and participants' families.
• Assists during meals with transporting residents between the dining and activities area.
• Helping with Activities of Daily Living (e.g.,, toileting, feeding, grooming).
• Assist with the pick-up/drop-off of participants.
• Works within regulatory requirements and adheres to organizational policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Nursing, Recreational Therapy, Healthcare Administration or related field
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi task and prioritize.
• Previous experience working with individuals diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimer's.
• 1 year of experience in geriatric care.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Recreational Therapy, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
• Prior experience working with individuals with dementia/Alzheimer's. and special care needs
• Prior MDS experience is preferred.
• First Aid and CPR Certification preferred.
• PSW certificate preferred.
• Prior experience in customer service.
• Prior experience coordinating events.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
