Job description
Silverthorne Day Care currently has an opportunity for a Activities Assistant/PCA who is responsible for providing a stimulating environment and caring environment for program participants through daily activities.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday (8:00am - 3:00pm)
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for helping to plan, prepare, and coordinate activities.
- Cleans up following activities.
- Develops strong relationships with participants and participants' families.
- Assists during meals with transporting residents between the dining and activities area.
- Helping with Activities of Daily Living (e.g.,, toileting, feeding, grooming).
- Assist with the pick-up/drop-off of participants.
- Works within regulatory requirements and adheres to organizational policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Nursing, Recreational Therapy, Healthcare Administration or related field
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi task and prioritize.
- Previous experience working with individuals diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimer's.
- 1 year of experience in geriatric care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Recreational Therapy, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
- Prior experience working with individuals with dementia/Alzheimer's. and special care needs
- Prior MDS experience is preferred.
- First Aid and CPR Certification preferred.
- PSW certificate preferred.
- Prior experience in customer service.
- Prior experience coordinating events.
