Behavior Technician
Behavior Technician (BT) to provide in-home services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or emotional and behavioral issues. RBTs manage a caseload of clients to be seen in their homes/ the community and are supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Supervision meets the requirements of the BACB and may be used towards BCBA or BCaBA certification. Most clients are seen before or after school, although there are opportunities for RBTs to work during school hours.
- The Behavior Technician must possess an understanding of autism and how to treat the deficits and behaviors associated with the diagnosis and learn applied behavior analysis (ABA) standards and practice.
- This is an hourly, non-exempt, part-time position where you will serve as an integral member of the therapy team working directly to contribute to client and family success
- Implement behavioral plans designed by BCBA/LBA in clients’ homes, schools and treatment centers
- Provide one on one in-home and community-based Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy
- Collect data to monitor the progress and effectiveness of the individualized treatment plan and report progress
- Support BCBA with training families on implementing individualized treatment plans
- Be responsive to the needs and requests of clients, their families and supervisors
- Maintain clear lines of communication with families, supervisors and other applicable parties
- Any other tasks outlined by BCBA/LBA
- Maintain client confidentiality (HIPAA) at all times
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending trainings
- Timely documentation of services should be completed by end of day (on a daily basis) which services were rendered
- Objective documentation of services correctly located in Aloha ABA. Documentation content needs to be 2-3 sentences with treatment plan data. One paragraph per hour if data could not be collected. Notes need to be approved by supervisor or the session cannot be paid for. Can be applied retroactively
- ABC data collection of new behaviors as requested by supervisor on paper
- Respond to Behavioral Therapy Solutions LLC Admin staff, Supervisor, ABA Director within 24 hours
- Additional responsibilities to be assigned and are subject to change based on regulation changes from funding source and company standards
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets as specified by supervisors based on the individual treatment plan and BIP
- Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
- Open written and verbal communication skills with supervisor, lead behavior technician, parents and authorized professionals involved with client
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and authorized 3rd party involvement with case
- Ability to adhere to Behavioral Therapy Solution’s organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and Virginia Board of Medicine
- Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standard
- Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols as written
- Safety recommendations on personal presentation as referred to clothing, adequate shoes, accessories (closed toe shoes: no heels or wedges, long sleeve shirt, minimal jewelry: no hoop or long earrings, fingernails: cannot exceed a nail length of ¼ inch as measured from the tip of the finger)
