Sports Medicine Medical Assistant

We are looking for a focused self-starter with an eagerness to learn and desire to help others to join our Gaithersburg team as a Medical Assistant.

Top candidates will have at least 6 months of medical assisting experience, some knowledge of medical administrative tasks, an interest in developing as a healthcare professional, and an ability to communicate in both English and Spanish fluently.

The candidate MUST be willing to commute to two of our offices located in Silver Spring and Bethesda as the position will be split between the two locations. (Please read all requirements below before applying)

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Document health history, activities, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record
  • Manage the flow and communication of the patients and physicians between exam rooms
  • Cast and splint application and removal
  • Fit patients with braces, boots, and other DMEs as ordered by physician
  • Prepare injections and procedure trays
  • Clean and stock exam rooms
  • Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines, confidentiality policies, and HIPAA & OSHA compliance
  • Other patient care responsibilities as assigned
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed (i.e. scanning/linking patient documents, scheduling, routing phone calls, verifying patient eligibility & benefits)

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical assisting experience
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Ability to plan ahead, think critically and appropriately prioritize workload
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with patients, staff and the public
  • Team-oriented
  • Manages time and workflow efficiently
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)

Minimum Required Schedule:

  • Monday - 8:15am-12:30pm
  • Wednesday - 2:45pm-6:15pm
  • Thursday - 9:45am-2:15pm
